The annual Mass Golf Youth Golf Day hosted at the Links at Mass Golf was a great day of fun, golf, and entertainment. Highlighted by the Dennis Walters Golf Show, around 40 boys and girls participated in the action that also included a free kids clinic for all that attended.
“It was really exciting to see so many kids out here for another successful Youth Golf Day,” said Director of Operations of the First Tee of Massachusetts Kyle Harris. “To have World Golf Hall of Famer Dennis Walters join us was a great experience. Not only is his show very entertaining but he teaches life lessons at the same time, just like what we deliver at The First Tee.”
The First Tee focuses on not only improving the golf games of its participants, but also teaching valuable skills and lessons to better every person that comes through the program.
“It teaches manners, integrity, and being truthful, said Pilar Colleran, whose son Harry has participated in the First Tee for around a year. “You can’t lie about your score, I mean, stuff that doesn’t always get taught at school.”
The free kids clinic was possible because of the unwavering support of MAss Golf volunteers, and also through the assistance of NextGenGolf.
“We are very grateful to Dennis and to Titleist for bringing the show to The Links at Mass Golf,” said Harris. “We also couldn’t have pulled it off without the volunteers from Mass Golf and NextGenGolf who conducted the free kids clinic. We are already looking forward to next year and returning to the tradition of being joined at Youth Golf Day by a PGA TOUR pro as The Northern Trust returns to Norton.”
