NORTON, Mass – Matt Parziale’s life changed on October 13, 2017. On that afternoon, the 30-year-old Brockton firefighter captured the 2017 U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship.
He became only the second Bay State native to win a national mid-amateur title and as a result earned exemptions into the 2018 U.S. Open Championship and 2018 Masters Tournament.
This past week, the United States Golf Association (USGA) took a look back on Parziale’s victory and the unlikely path he took from the streets of Brockton to Augusta National.
Parziale, along with LPGA player Megan Khang who is also from Brockton, were featured in the fall issue of MassGolfer magazine (click here).
On January 17th, Parziale and all of the Mass Golf Champions from 2017 will be honored at the Salute to Champions Dinner. The annual gathering will be held at Wellesley Country Club beginning at 6:00 p.m.
