Celebrating its 109th year, the Championship remains the only Mass Golf event of the year with a professional purse. An additional three competitors, who shot even par-72, earned alternate status and will be placed on a priority list per the Alternate Policy, which can be found on the Mass Golf Policies and Procedures Page.

Less than three weeks removed from advancing to the sectional stage of the U.S. Open Championship, University of Notre Dame – bound golfer, Andrew O’Leary, fired a 3-under par 69 to earn co-medalist honors Tuesday at Pleasant Valley Country Club in Sutton. The Pawtucket CC member, who carded four birdies to one bogey, joined New York professional Timothy Hegarty at the top of the leaderboard.

Fellow amateurs Brett Krekorian, of Andover and Limestone College, and Daniel Woodbury, a recent graduate of the Virginia Tech Hokies Men’s Golf team from Upton, joined fellow Bay Staters Christopher Gentle (Lowell), Owen Quinn (Holden), and Nathan Davis (Taunton) among the group of players to advance to the Championship Proper.
