Originally from Methuen, Massachusetts, McKinnon was co-captain of the Methuen High School golf team. While in school, she decided to study golf management. She was one of 10 seniors nationwide to win a prestigious PGA Works golf management scholarship, using it to enroll in the PGA Golf Management program at Florida Gulf Coast University. There, she became the first woman to serve as president of the program’s Student Association Executive Board.

She also held internships at The Club at Turner Hill (Ipswich, MA), Vasari Country Club (Bonita Springs, FL), and Junior Golf Performance Academy (Naples, FL) before joining Mass Golf during the 2023 season, conducting course set-up and event management alongside staff. Last year, she worked the U.S. Amateur Four-Ball, U.S. Senior Open, U.S. Junior Amateur, and U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur. She also completed a capstone project centered on applying, withdrawing, and transferring for USGA championships. Prior to Mass Golf, she was the Tournament Manager for the Carolinas Golf Association.

In her new position at Mass Golf, McKinnon will be an organizational lead for Mass Golf’s competition schedule, overseeing everything from pre-event planning and player registration to hosting club coordination and volunteer engagement. She will act as the primary point of contact for players, clubs, and volunteers, ensuring smooth communication and execution across all Mass Golf, USGA, and regional events.

“Starting as a Boatwright Intern and now stepping into a full-time role, it’s been an incredible journey with Mass Golf,” McKinnon said. “The organization has always set a high standard for amateur golf, and I’m proud to continue growing the organization and amateur golf with such a dedicated and inspiring team.”

Sean Morahan, PGA, recently was Assistant Golf Professional at Charles River Country Club. (Mass Golf)

Morahan, who played golf at Concord-Carlisle High School, is a graduate of the PGA Golf Management Program at Campbell University. He brings a strong background in private club operations and championship support. Over the past six years, he served as an assistant golf professional at Charles River Country Club, where he led the administration of the club’s robust event calendar and contributed to daily operations.

His resume includes experience across several prestigious clubs nationwide. Prior to Charles River, Morahan held seasonal and internship roles at Hole-in-the-Wall Golf Club (FL), The Country Club (MA), Chevy Chase Club (MD), and Woodway Country Club (CT), gaining experience in everything from member services and junior golf programming to high-level tournament execution.

In his new role, Morahan will provide vital operational support across Mass Golf’s full championship schedule, which includes state championships, USGA qualifiers, and regional competitions. He will play a hands-on role in the planning and execution of events, assisting with course marking, hole locations, tee placements, and equipment logistics.

“In my previous roles at clubs in Massachusetts, I had the chance to observe how Mass Golf operates during events,” Morahan said. “The team’s professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to the game always stood out to me. I’m excited to now be a part of that team and help deliver the same high-quality experiences I’ve seen up close.”
