NORTON, Massachusetts (May 9, 2024) – With the LPGA Tour returning to Massachusetts this fall, Mass Golf has announced a pathway for the state’s top female amateur golfers to gain entry into the Monday Qualifier for the FM Global Championship.
Working in conjunction with the LPGA Tour, twelve players will receive an invitation to compete in the Mass Golf Invitational Qualifier. The Invitational will be contested at Worcester Country Club five days prior to the Monday Qualifier, which will be contested at TPC Boston, also the host site of the FM Global Championship.
The winner of The Invitational will receive entry into the FM Global Monday Qualifier, an opportunity not often available to amateur golfers. *Announced Friday, May 17, a second spot into the Monday Qualifier will also be awarded based on the result of The Invitational.
Six different categories will be used to identify invitees. Four of the categories have been determined by past champions/players of the year, and the other two categories will identify players in peak form this summer.
Special Invitation Extended
On Friday, May 17, Mass Golf announced the addition of a second spot into the Monday Qualifier. Both the winner and runner-up of The Invitational will receive entry into the FM Global Monday Qualifier. With the addition of this second spot, Mass Golf has extended a special invitation into the Mass Golf Invitational Qualifier to professional Seul-Ki Hawley, based on her victory at the 2023 PGA Section Championship.
