NORTON, Massachusetts – Eight USGA P.J. Boatwright interns will join the Mass Golf team this summer to assist with day-to-day operations in the Championships, Member Services, and Marketing & Communications departments.
The USGA has invested more than $32 million into the program since its inaugural campaign in 1991, helping to prepare more than 3,000 participants for careers in the golf industry and beyond. One-third of all current state and regional golf association staff members are alumni of the Boatwright program, including 21 AGA executive directors and 16 USGA staff members.
Boatwright interns learn to manage all aspects of the game during their internships, which last from three months to one year. They also attend a four-day orientation summit hosted by the USGA that introduces them to the association’s key service functions.
“We are thrilled to welcome a talented 2023 Boatwright Class to our team this season,” said Jesse Menachem, Executive Director/CEO of Mass Golf. We have a group supporting our key operations and services ranging from communications and marketing to events, services, tournaments and championships. The program continues to help us advance the game and similarly it allows us to develop future leaders within the industry – we’re proud to have 10 Boatwright alums on our full-time staff.”
