SOUTHWICK, Massachusetts – The final qualifier for the 2023 Massachusetts Amateur Public Links Championship took place this week at The Ranch Golf Club, with 19 players clinching a spot in the Championship Proper. Play finished Wednesday after it was suspended Tuesday due to dangerous weather.
The championship will take place at Olde Scotland Links in Bridgewater for the first time this summer (August 7-8).
Entries for the event are open to amateur golfers whose handicap index does not exceed 12.0 and a course/club that provides playing opportunities for the general public seven days a week.
Amos Nissenbaum (Quaboag Country Club) led the field with a score of 1-under-par 71, making four birdies total. Coming in behind him was David Falcucci (Cyprian Keyes Golf Club) with a score an even-par 72.
There was a three-way tie for third place with scores of 2-over 74 between Bryce Piemonte (Tekoa Country Club), Michael Williams (Crumpin-Fox Club), and David Rixham (Shining Rock Golf Club).
Six players made the cut on the number at 6-over 78.
