NORTON, Massachusetts – Mass Golf is excited to announce the release of a limited edition Mass Golf Youth Fund Hat for online purchase through Imperial. The limited-edition hat will be sold with proceeds going towards the Mass Golf Youth Fund.
The partnership between Mass Golf and Imperial dates back to 2018. The company, based in Bourbon, Missouri, became the “Official Headwear Provider of Mass Golf” and continues to provide staff and volunteers with custom headwear options each season.

The new Mass Golf Youth Fund Rope Cap is available on the Imperial Website as part of the Mass Golf Collection. The Aloha Rope Cap is part of Imperial’s DNA collection, inspired by products in their 1980 and 1990 collections. The hat features a Hawaiian floral print, a performance-wicking sweatband, woven white rope across the front panel, and a brown leather backstrap with a black metal buckle and eyelet. Prominently displayed on the front panel is an embroidered patch with the Mass Golf shield.
“Introducing new players to the game and specifically junior golfers is a focus for Imperial,” said David Shaffer, Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Imperial. “Being able to give back to the game in a unique way like this in the state where I first started to play golf means a lot to me personally and professionally. I know first hand how hard Mass Golf works to introduce the game to the next generation of golfers through programs like First Tee and Youth on Course.”
An Andover native, Shaffer played much of his junior golf in Massachusetts before heading off to Northwestern University. Having been a part of the golf industry for close to 20 years, Shaffer has continued to strengthen ties to amateur golfers through state golf associations and other organizations that support the growth of the game.

Through this limited edition Mass Golf Youth Fund Rope Cap, Imperial will donate a portion of the proceeds to The Mass Golf Youth Fund, a charity supporting kids and teens in learning to play golf while also making the game more affordable and accessible for youth across Massachusetts. The design for this hat was inspired by the Mass Golf’s Staycation blog. In 2020, when travel was restricted due to the pandemic, Stephen Hanjack, Mass Golf’s Assistant Director for Strategic Communications, developed a blog encouraging Massachusetts-based golfers to explore the state. His mantra is, “everything you enjoy about a golf trip can be experienced right here in the Bay State.”
“The pandemic had a tremendous impact on everyone’s life across the state, and Stephen was able to create a very bright light for those golfers who missed traveling and taking vacations,” Carmignani said. “The hat has caught the eye of many when he is out on his Staycation adventures, and it seemed only fitting to be able to offer it as part of the Mass Golf collection with proceeds benefiting the Youth Fund.”
