NORTON, Massachusetts – Pam Kuong (Charles River CC) played her final 10 holes in 3-under to finish in solo 4th place at the R&A’s Women’s Senior Amateur Championship. The event was contested at Woodhall Spa, England, from July 11th to the 14th.
Kuong posted a total of +12 across four rounds, six shots behind winner Jackie Foster of England. Kuong was the low American in the field and only one of three to make the cut. A fellow Massachusetts golfer, Sue Curtin (Boston GC) also made the cut, she finished in 20th place (+30). Curtin showed no signs of jet lag, as she returned home and claimed the junior division title at the Mass Golf Mother Son tournament just four days later.
Kuong, named the Massachusetts Women’s Senior Amateur Player of the Year in 2020, 2021 and 2022, will look to win her fourth consecutive Massachusetts Women’s Senior Amateur in August. The Championship will be held at Hatherly Country Club on August 29th and 30th.
