NORTON, Massachusetts – With the start of the golf season just months away, Mass Golf is excited to announce that it has expanded its Member Services team with the addition of Patrick Fannon as the association’s new Manager of Member Events & Services.
Fannon, a resident of West Yarmouth, brings more than 30 years of experience at private, public and resort facilities from Florida to Massachusetts and has, for the past 16 years, served as head golf professional at Blue Rock Golf Course in South Yarmouth.
“We feel fortunate to be able to bring Patrick aboard to our growing team,” said Mark Gagne, Mass Golf’s Director of Member Services. “His professionalism and experience at golf facilities and his industry knowledge was second to none and will be a huge asset to the Mass Golf community.”
Fannon’s status as a certified PGA Professional in Teaching and Coaching as well as in Golf Operations places him in an elite category that includes just five percent of all PGA Members. Known for his love of golf and creative teaching methods, Fannon also operated the Patrick Fannon Golf Academy where he has helped countless golfers retain and learn new skills.
“I’m fortunate Mass Golf is giving me this opportunity. Working with this team of golf industry professionals will only elevate my game,” said Fannon, a skilled player himself whose lowest professional 18-hole score was a 68 carded at Bass River Golf Course. “What intrigued me most? Mass Golf’s commitment to excellence, their strategic planning to take Mass Golf to the next level is exciting and I look forward to the challenges in my new role.“
As Manager of Member Events & Services, Fannon will be responsible for overseeing Mass Golf’s popular Member Day program, which is coming off a record season in which 26 events were held at courses across the Bay State. In addition, Fannon will also assist with the operation of the 13 Women’s and Team Tournaments held from May through October.
“Patrick’s wealth of knowledge and experience in club and tournament operations uniquely positions him for managing the Member Day program and to provide support for all of our events,” said Gagne. “He has also created a highly customer service-oriented culture at Blue Rock, and we anticipate he will bring that style to the many other programs and services we provide our Member Clubs and Members.”
Beginning on February 5, Fannon can be reached at pfannon@massgolf.org.
