TAUNTON, Massachusetts – The first Member Day event of the 2018 season took place on Monday at Segregansett Country Club. A field of golfers from across the state traveled to Taunton for 18 holes of golf where prizes in three divisions were awarded.
“It was a great start to the Member Day season,” said Connor McDonagh-Poh, Mass Golf’s Manager of Member Events & Services who manages the Member Day program. “Everyone was so excited to play after what was a long winter and spring season. It was a fun day all around, and we could not be happier to get this record-breaking season underway.”
To McDonagh-Poh‘s point, this year marks another record-breaking season for the Member Day program which was first introduced during the 2010 season as a way to bring Mass Golf championship experience to golfers of all skills and age levels. The program also allows golfers to play courses that they might never have an opportunity to visit otherwise.

Member Days are one-day events open to anyone who holds a current Mass Golf/USGA GHIN Handicap index with a Member Club. Every Member Day costs just $90 and that includes golf, cart and range balls.
There are a total of 28 Member Days on the 2018 schedule which represents an increase from the 21 held during the 2017 season. In the past two years alone, there has been a 100 percent increase in the number of Member Day events offered throughout the season.
New for 2018, the Member Day program offers participants a chance to compete in three divisions:
Women’s Division: 4,800 – 5,200 yards (Net Competition)
Men’s Division: 5,000 – 5,400 yards (Net Competition)
Member Division: 5,800 – 6,200 yards (Open to both Men and Women; Gross and Net Competition)
