NEWBURYPORT, Massachusetts – A local company has stepped up to support one of Bay State’s shining young stars.
Newburyport-based Tournament Solutions, the official tournament gift and award company of Mass Golf, officially announced this week that it has entered into a sponsorship agreement with LPGA player Megan Khang.

Khang, at the age of 20, is entering her third year on the LPGA Tour where she finished 43rd on the LPGA Official Money List in 2017. Highlights from this past season included four Top 10 finishes. She capped off the year with a T3 finish at November’s Blue Bay LPGA held in Hainan Island, China.
A native of Brockton who spent much of her youth in Rockland, Khang enjoyed a tremendous amateur career (click here to read a feature story on Khang that appeared in 2014-15 issue of MassGolfer magazine). During one stretch she qualified to play in three of four U.S. Women’s Opens, in 2012, 2014, and 2015, making her first appearance in the prestigious event when she was only 14 years old.
After finishing as low amateur at the 2015 U.S. Women’s Open Championship, Khang became one of only 20 players to earn a full status card on the tour at the conclusion of the grueling five-day 2015 LPGA Q-School held in Daytona Beach, Florida. She made her LPGA debut at the 2016 Pure Silk Bahamas LPGA Classic where she held the lead – as a rookie – for 36 holes.
Her performance in the Bahamas that year was also historic as she became the very first player of Hmong and Laotian descent to ever compete on the LPGA tour. The unique journey of her family was documented this past fall by Golf Channel.

Khang will once again be in the field at that event next week when the 2018 LPGA season kicks off on January 25.
