FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: June 4, 2020

Any player registered to compete in a sectional qualifier will now advance directly to the Championship Proper. This brings the number of competitors in the field to 168.

As for stroke play, each competitor will only play 18 holes this year, with half the field playing Monday, August 3 and the other half on Tuesday, August 4. Players can request which day to play, and requests are accommodated on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The low 16 players in the field will advance to match play that will begin Wednesday, August 5. Any potential playoffs for the final spot(s) into match play will be done Wednesday morning. The semifinals and finals will take place Thursday, August 6.

The 102nd Massachusetts Junior Amateur Championship will take place at Cranberry Valley GC, located on Cape Cod.

“Safety amongst everything has been our number one priority as we look to get the Mass Golf Championship season started soon,” said Kevin Eldridge, Mass Golf’s Director of Rules & Competitions. “Our 102nd Junior Amateur Championship is one of our two marquee junior golf events of the season. We want to thank everyone in advance for their flexibility and patience with these changes.”
