2023 Women’s Championships

To ensure that competitors have the best experience possible when competing in a Mass Golf Championship event, it is helpful to be knowledgeable of the Policies and Procedures established by the association. See below for eligibility requirements (Age, Handicap Index®, etc.) and entry close dates for all Mass Golf Women’s Championships.

Mixed Four-Ball Championship for the Stone Cup

May 1 (Monday)
Walpole Country Club

Format: 18-holes; Four-Ball stroke play (gross & net)

Eligibility:

  • Any two-person mixed team (male & female) of amateur golfers who have an active Mass Golf Membership.
  • Handicap Index® (per player) not exceeding 18.0 (at the time of registration).
  • Have played and posted 5 rounds at any Mass Golf member club/course within 12 months of the entry close date.

 

NEW in 2023 – Registration for this event will NOT be first come, first served. The field will be selected “low-to-high”, based on the teams combined Handicap Index® as of the published entry close date.

Women's Stroke Play Championship for the Baker Trophy

May 23 – 24 (Tue-Wed)
Cape Cod Country Club

Format: 36-holes; individual stroke play in two separate divisions.

Players must select either the Championship Division or Tournament Division at the time of registration.

 

Eligibility:

  • Any female amateur golfer who has an active Mass Golf Membership.
  • Handicap Index® not exceeding 18.0 (at the time of registration).
  • Have played and posted 5 rounds at any Mass Golf member club/course within 12 months of the entry close date.

New England Women's Amateur

June 12 – 14 (Mon-Wed)
Manchester Country Club (CT)

Format: 54-holes; individual stroke play

Eligibility: 18.0 Handicap Index

CHAMPIONSHIP REGISTRATION WILL OPEN – WED., MARCH 1st at 10:00am

Women's Four-Ball Championship for the Townshend Cup

July 6 (Thursday)
Ferncroft Country Club

Format: 18-holes; Four-Ball stroke play (gross & net)

Eligibility:

  • Any two-person team of female amateur golfers who have an active Mass Golf Membership.
  • Handicap Index® (per player) not exceeding 18.0 (at the time of registration).
  • Have played and posted 5 rounds at any Mass Golf member club/course within 12 months of the entry close date.

Braintree Municipal Golf Course

Format: 54, 36 or 18-hole(s) (depending on division); individual stroke play

Eligibility:

  • Any female amateur golfers who have an active Mass Golf Membership.
  • A Handicap Index® (at the time of registration) is required for the Championship & Silver Divisions.
  • Age 18 & Under (additional division age restrictions apply).
  • Have played and posted 5 rounds at any Mass Golf member club/course within 12 months of the entry close date.

Women’s Amateur Championship

August 14 – 18 (Mon-Fri)
Dedham Country & Polo Club

Format: 36-hole stroke play qualifier to match play (32 match play qualifiers)

Eligibility:

  • Any female amateur golfer who has an active Mass Golf Membership.
  • Handicap Index® not exceeding 10.0 (at the time of registration).
  • Have played and posted 5 rounds at any Mass Golf member club/course within 12 months of the entry close date.

Women’s Senior Amateur Championship

August 29 – 30 (Tue-Wed)
Hatherly Country Club

Format: 18 or 36 Holes (depending on division); individual stroke play

  • Division 1 will play both Aug. 29 & 30; Division 2 will play on only Aug. 29

Eligibility:

  • Any female amateur golfer (age 50+) who has an active Mass Golf Membership.
  • Handicap Index® not exceeding 36.0 (at the time of registration).
    • Division 1 – Handicap Index® not exceeding 18.0 (at the time of registration).
    • Division 2 – Handicap Index® between 18.1 – 36.0 (at the time of registration).
  • Have played and posted 5 rounds at any Mass Golf member club/course within 12 months of the entry close date.

Women's Mid-Amateur Championship for the Keyes Cup

September 18 – 19 (Mon-Tue)
Cape Cod National Golf Club

Format: 18 or 36 holes (depending on division); individual stroke play

Eligibility:

  • Any female amateur golfer (age 25+) who has an active Mass Golf Membership.
  • Handicap Index® not exceeding 36.0 (at the time of registration).
    • Championship & Tournament Division(s) – Handicap Index® 18.0 or lower
    • Flighted Division (formerly the B, C, D, and E) – Handicap Index® 14.0 or higher (36.0 max)
      • Competitors with a Handicap Index® between 14.0 and 18.0 will have the option to compete in the Championship/Tournament Division(s) OR the Flighted Division
      • All Competitors in the Flighted Division will be placed into evenly distributed flights (1, 2, 3, etc.) after entries close. 
  • Have played and posted 5 rounds at any Mass Golf member club/course within 12 months of the entry close date.

Endicott Cup & Tri-State Matches

October 10 – 12 (Tue – Thur)
Wanumetonomy G & CC (RI)

Format: 36-holes; individual stroke play followed by the Tri-State Matches

Eligibility:

  • Any female amateur golfer who has an active Mass Golf Membership.
  • Handicap Index® not exceeding 17.0 (at the time of registration).
    • This is not a first come, first served registration. Entries will be selected by Handicap Index® (low to high) as of the Sept. 14, 2023 revision date. 
  • Have played and posted 5 rounds at any Mass Golf member club/course within 12 months of the entry close date.
