2020 Championship Update!

  • Sectional qualifiers have been CANCELED.
  • All currently registered players, both exempt & non-exempt will compete in the championship proper at Cranberry Valley GC.
  • The schedule of events for the championship proper have been adjusted to the following:
    • Monday, Aug 3rd – 18-holes of stroke play for 84 competitors.
    • Tuesday, Aug 4th – 18-holes of stroke play for an additional 84 competitors.
    • Wednesday, Aug 5th – The low 16 overall will advance to match play and the Round of 16 and Quarterfinals will be played on Wednesday.
      • If a playoff is needed for the final match play qualifying spot(s), it will be scheduled for Wednesday morning.
    • Thursday, Aug 6th – The Semifinals and Finals will be played.

 

Eligibility

Entries are open to amateur golfers who have an active Mass Golf/GHIN Handicap Index at any public, private, semi-private, municipal or non-real estate Mass Golf member course/club and who have reached their 14th birthday and will not reach their 19th birthday by midnight August 6, 2020.

Student-athletes are now able to obtain a Mass Golf/USGA GHIN Handicap Index directly through Mass Golf. This is a complimentary service that will provide junior golfers with the ability to become more connected with the sport.

Interested student-athletes should CLICK HERE for more information regarding the MIAA & Mass Golf Student-Athlete form. Once submitted a member of the Mass Golf staff will contact each student-athlete to set up the Mass Golf/USGA GHIN Handicap Index for the upcoming season.

WAGR Counting event

The World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), which comprises a women’s ranking and a men’s ranking for elite amateur players, is offered by The R&A and the USGA as a global service to golf. WAGR is updated every Wednesday on www.wagr.com and is available to national federations and organizers of amateur and professional events and tours for purposes of offering exemptions, selecting national teams and assembling Orders of Merit. WAGR currently incorporates over 4,000 events with over 10,000 players and endeavors to be the most comprehensive and accurate ranking in golf by effectively comparing players from around the world who may never directly compete against one another.


Ajga PERFORMANCE based entry status

  • Champion – Fully Exempt
  • Match-Play Semi-Finalist – 12 Stars
  • Match-Play Quarterfinalist – 8 Stars
  • Match-Play Round of 16 – 4 Stars
