Entries are open to amateur golfers who have an active Mass Golf/GHIN Handicap Index at any public, private, semi-private, municipal or non-real estate Mass Golf member course/club and will not reach their 14th birthday by midnight of July 22, 2019. The field is limited to 48 players. Entries will be on a first come, first served basis.
Student-athletes are now able to obtain a Mass Golf/USGA GHIN Handicap Index directly through Mass Golf. This is a complimentary service that will provide junior golfers with the ability to become more connected with the sport.
Interested student-athletes should CLICK HERE for more information regarding the MIAA & Mass Golf Student-Athlete form. Once submitted a member of the Mass Golf staff will contact each student-athlete to set up the Mass Golf/USGA GHIN Handicap Index for the upcoming season.
The 2019 Young Golfers’ Amateur Champion will recieve an exemption (pending the submission of a completed registration) into the 2019 HJGT National Championship in Orlando, FL – December 7-8, 2019.
After carding a birdie on the front nine and playing 1-over golf on his back nine, Northampton’s Reilly Fowles (Crumpin-Fox Club) held on to claim the 4th Massachusetts Young Golfers’ Amateur Championship title Monday at Canton’s Milton Hoosic Club. The 11-year old finished his 18-hole round at 2-over par 72, netting 52 points in the Stableford format tournament to best the leaderboard, finishing one point ahead of a pair of fellow competitors and avoiding a sudden-death playoff.
