Wrentham, MA — The MGA and the MGA Links at Mamantapett Golf Course proudly accepted the 2017 Red Triangle Award Wednesday evening from the Hockomock Area YMCA at its annual meeting held at Lake Pearl.
The award, presented by the local YMCA Chapter to a community group, recognized the strong partnership that it has developed with the MGA over the years, which includes the immersion of YMCA participants to the game of golf through The First Tee of Massachusetts golf program.
“We were thrilled to hear that we were chosen as the recipient of the Red Triangle Award by the Hockomock Area YMCA,” said Jesse Menachem, the MGA's Executive Director. “We put great effort into working with all our community partners and to see the impact that golf has had on the individuals involved with this program is a true example of what community interaction is all about.”
The Red Triangle Award is an award given out across the nation by YMCA chapters to recognize individuals or organizations for their steadfast dedication and partnership with the YMCA to meet the changing needs of the community.
Through The First Tee of Massachusetts golf program, which has its main chapter at the MGA Links at Mamantapett Golf Course in Norton, YMCA participants have been able to not only learn the game of golf and pick up clubs, many for the first time, but they have also been able to learn many important life values that the game of golf instills, including integrity, respect and perseverance.
First Tee of Massachusetts Executive Director Joe McCabe and MGA Links Golf Professional Pete Walsh were also on hand to receive the award.
