Norton, MA — Nearing the February 2nd MGA Championship Online Registration "go live" date, the MGA has announced the four qualifying sites ahead of the 2017 Massachusetts Senior Amateur Championship scheduled for September 18-19 at Watertown’s Oakley Country Club. The 2017 Senior Amateur Championship will mark the 57th playing of the tournament.

Qualifying for the MGA Senior Amateur Championship will begin August 8 at Springfield Country Club as the first of four events being hosted for players interested in competing in the Championship Proper.

Pine Brook Country Club (August 15), Willowbend (August 21) and Marshfield Country Club (August 28) will host the three additional qualifiers throughout the remainder of August ahead of the mid-September event. 

The MGA Senior Amateur Championship is open to amateur golfers who have reached their 55th birthday by September 18 and who have an active MGA/GHIN Handicap Index at any public, private semi-private, municipal or non-real estate MGA member course that does not exceed 8.0 as determined by the July 1, 2017 Handicap Revision.

Online registration will begin on February 2nd at 10 am and will close on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 5 pm.

This will be the second ever MGA Senior Amateur Championship hosted at Oakley Country Club and the first since 1987.
