Boston, MA — Tuesday’s high temperature made it feel more like a mid-summer day than a mid-October day, but that didn’t stop a contingent of players who joined MGA staff and fellow Members Now! members for the first annual “Members Now!” Appreciation Day, held at George Wright Golf Club in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Boston.
The site of the 2018 Massachusetts Amateur Championship, George Wright Golf Course brought together a great group of people who enjoyed some friendly competition at the Donald Ross classic.
“It was a fantastic day had by all,” said Mark Gagne, the Director of Member Services for the MGA.
“So often, we work with our Members Now! clients via phone and email to best serve their needs, so it was a pleasure to meet them in person and hear their stories about the game and what it means too them. To be able to do that while enjoying a round of golf at a beautiful course made it that much better.”
Introduced in 2015, the Members Now! program connects golfers with public, municipal and semi-private facilities and makes obtaining MGA/USGA GHIN membership simple.
Additionally, it allows members to take full advantage of the many benefits offered through MGA membership, including access to MGA, NEGA and USGA tournaments, the famed MGA Member Days and updated golf news sent directly to your email, among others.
In addition to the round of golf, participants of the Member’s Now! Appreciation Day at George Wright received an MGA gift and top finishers were awarded prizes in the Stableford format tournament.
The MGA would like to thank all those who participated in the event, as well as the the professional team at George Wright; Manager Joe Leary, Golf Professional Scott Allen and Golf Course Superintendent Len Curtin.
