Norton, MA — Tickets for the 2016 Massachusetts Golf Hall of Fame’s Gala and Induction Ceremony at Andover Country Club are now on sale, as announced by MGA Executive Director Jesse Menachem.
On Thursday, October 13, Bob Crowley, Bill Flynn, Joe Lazaro, Anne Marie Tobin, Frank Vana, Jr. and Herbert Warren Wind will become the third class of honorees to be recognized with the top award in Bay State golf.
The inaugural class - which included Pat Bradley, Fred Corcoran, Francis Ouimet and Donald Ross – was recognized in 2002, while Ted Bishop, Margaret & Harriot Curtis, Paul Harney, Joanne Goodwin, Bob Toski, and Fred Wright were enshrined in 2014.
“We are excited to honor this latest class of inductees,” said Menachem. “Two years ago, the Hall of Fame Gala was a sell out and we have already received overwhelming response from Member Clubs and groups that are eager to celebrate and honor these inductees and their impact on golf here in the Bay State.”
To Menachem’s point, the following groups/individuals have already been confirmed as premier Ring of Honor supporters:
Tickets are open to the general public and can be purchased online at massgolfhall.com. Tickets are $125 per person and include open-bar cocktail reception as well as a dinner and awards presentation. Tickets can also be purchased as half (5 people) and full tables (10 people).
Former New England Patriot and Pro Football Hall of Famer Andre Tippett will be the guest speaker, while former WCVB-TV sports reporter Mike Dowling will serve as the evening’s master of ceremonies.
Video vignettes on all six inductees – produced by Norwood-based Cramer Productions – will be unveiled for the first time that evening. Those videos will highlight the significant impact that all six inductees have had on the sport of golf.
Earlier this year, MGA President Thomas Bagley stated, “The MGA executive committee has continued to be impressed by the depth and quality of individuals who have made indelible marks on the sport here in the Bay State. The class of 2016 is no different. Their impact on the game has been felt both on and off the golf course and their individual legacies are second to none.”
The induction ceremony will kick off on October 13th with a cocktail reception at 6 pm and will be followed with a celebration and dinner in Andover’s Grand Ballroom as each of the newest members into the Hall of Fame are officially honored.
