NORTON, Massachusetts – Due to record-setting demand, Tatnuck Country Club in Worcester has been added to the list of clubs that will host a Mass Golf Member Day, a series of one-day organized events at premier private courses that are open to all Mass Golf Members. Tatnuck, a 9-hole course with its current layout designed by golden-era architect Donald Ross, will host the event Monday, August 12.
Member Day entries are based on a lottery system open to all Mass Golf Members who wish to participate in one or more of these events. Each lottery closes six weeks prior to the event start date, and 16 event lotteries are still open out of 24 events. Tatnuck previously hosted a Member Day in 2013 and 2015.
Last year, Tatnuck celebrated 125 years of golf on its property and is undergoing a master plan and restoration under the guidance of Matthew Dusenbery & Bradley Klein. The club also hosted the inaugural Worcester County Women’s Amateur. Architect Geoffrey Cornish once said of Tatnuck, “Its Quaker style is beautiful due in part to the plainness and simplicity that make it one of those courses recognized elsewhere in the nation as New England golf architecture.”
In addition to its recently-expanded “prairie-style” clubhouse, the club’s features include a driving range, short game area, swimming pool, tennis and paddle-platform tennis courts, and a basketball court, adding to the family-friendly nature of the club.
