LYNNFIELD, Massachusetts – Qualifying for the 62nd Massachusetts Senior Amateur Championship continued Monday with 10 more players advancing to the Championship Proper via the Sagamore Spring Golf Course qualifier.
The 2022 Senior Amateur will take place September 7-8 at Framingham Country Club. Entries were open to amateur golfers who have reached their 55th birthday by September 7, 2022, and who have an active Mass Golf/GHIN Handicap Index at any public, private, semi-private, municipal or non-real estate Mass Golf member course/club not exceeding 8.0.
Peter Harrison (Vesper Country Club) earned a second consecutive trip to the Mass Senior Amateur, shooting a bogey-free, 3-under-par 67 to earn medalist honors. Harrison’s birdies came on the par-5 3rd, par-4 7th, and par-3 14th.
Terry Dunn (Cyprian Keyes Golf Club), James Staffieri (Salem Country Club), and Dom Petruzzelli (Thomson Country Club) all shot 1-over 71 to earn a return trip to the Senior Amateur, while Glenn Bohling (Wedgewood Pines Country Club) shot 72 to advance for the first time.
William Shea (Norwood Country Club) will also play in his first Senior Amateur, making 14 pars to make the cut.
